Eating Disorders & Body Image

If eating has never felt “easy,” you’ve tried a bunch of diets that didn’t work out, you constantly think about food or your weight, or you’re stuck in a binge, purge, or restriction cycle, you’re in the right place! We can work together to let go of shame and self-criticism about your body, heal your relationship with food, and build skills so that eating doesn’t feel complicated anymore.

I practice from Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating frameworks. I am a size inclusive provider and take an evidence-based, weight-neutral approach in treating my clients. I am currently in process of becoming a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.

Sex & Sexuality

You may feel like shame and judgment have hindered you from embracing sex, your sexuality, or your identity in the ways you wish you could. Together, we can process self-judgment, shame, and insecurity, address discomfort and dissatisfaction, and gain knowledge about sexuality, so you feel empowered to be yourself and experience pleasure. This is a safe space to talk about whatever you want!

I am a trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming and sex positive provider.

Relationships & Attachment

Feeling insecure, anxious, or guarded in relationships is draining. Together, we can process painful experiences from childhood and past relationships that lead you to where you are now. Then, you’ll develop skills that help you thrive in current and future relationships, including communication skills, boundary-setting, self-awareness, and assertiveness.

I use an attachment lens to understand and improve individuals’ relationship anxiety and avoidance in romantic, platonic, and/or family relationships.

Trauma & EMDR

You have already survived something painful, whether one traumatic experience or of a lifetime of not having the support you deserve, and therapy is the space where you can finally get out of survival mode. Whether you have faced childhood trauma, childhood abuse or neglect, sexual abuse or coercion, relationship trauma, or religious trauma, I am here to support you where you are.

I offer a trauma-focused, integrated therapeutic approach that includes parts work, EMDR, somatic approaches, and cognitive therapies based on your unique needs and preferences.

Anxiety & OCD

You’re tired of feeling like you can’t control your worrying, and you know deep down that your thought spirals aren’t logical. You’re preoccupied about what other people might be thinking about you, you find yourself constantly asking “what ifs” or wanting reassurance, or you feel the pressure to be perfect. This is your space to better understand why your mind and learn skills that set you free.

I utilize evidence-based modalities to treat anxiety and OCD, including ERP and ACT. You and I will work collaboratively to determine what approach will work best for your specific concerns.

  • You’ve already taken the hardest step by looking into therapy, and now you’re trying to decide if this is for you.

First, it’s totally normal to be nervous or uncertain about starting therapy.

Second, remember that you don’t have to figure things out all on your own. Think of therapy as your supportive space where we get to work together to determine what would be most helpful for you.

In therapy, you’ll share the ways in which you’d like to see your life improve, and I’ll offer my professional knowledge and perspective for us to create goals and a roadmap for your therapy journey.

I offer free 15-minute inquiry calls that give you the chance to “put a voice to the name” and share what you’re looking for in a therapist so we can determine together if I’m a great fit for you. And if you decide I’m not the right fit, I’m always happy to provide you with referrals, so you have more options!

  • It’s totally okay (and common) if you don’t know why you want to start therapy yet, or if you don’t know what you want to focus on!

My role is to foster a comfortable space for you to be yourself, where you can express your concerns and gain clarity about the ways you want your life to change. We may discover you have one clear topic or goal you want to focus on in therapy, or perhaps you’ll realize you want therapy to be used for exploration and continual self-reflection that changes session to session. From there, we’ll identify your next steps forward, so you can pursue the life you want.

  • Bliss Therapy Co. offers an equity-based price range model to help increase access to therapy while supporting the therapy practice. You decide which rate is sustainable for you:

Standard Rate — $175: This rate represents the true costs of therapy, including education, trainings, experience, and costs of business.

Sustainable Rate — $125-$170: This rate is designed to reduce financial strain for those with fewer financial resources, while still sustaining the therapy practice.

Supported Rate — $70+: Bliss Therapy Co. reserves a few openings for clients with significant financial strain and/or limited-to-no support from loved ones to access mental healthcare.

Regardless of which rate you choose, the quality of care you receive will remain the same.

There are several benefits to private-pay therapy, including: utmost privacy and protection of client health information, freedom to determine treatment needs and timeline without insurance interference, no requirement to diagnose or “label” a client unless it benefits them, and no surprise bills or unexpected costs.

For those who would like to use their insurance, I am happy to provide you with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. In some cases, clients have out-of-network insurance benefits that allow them to be reimbursed for most or some of their out-of-pocket therapy costs.

If you have any questions about private-pay and/or superbills, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to answer any questions that make navigating this process easier!

  • If your insurance plan has “out-of-network benefits,” that means you are able to be reimbursed by your insurance company for therapy costs when you pay for therapy out-of-pocket. I provide superbills (receipts for your therapy appointments) that you would submit to your insurance company to be reimbursed by them for the cost. Not everyone has out-of-network benefits, and benefits differ — it depends on your insurance plan.

To learn more about your specific insurance plan’s coverage, I recommend contacting your insurance company.

Here are some questions to ask your insurance company:

    • What are my out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health appointments?

    • Do I have a deductible I have to meet before my out-of-network benefits kick in? How much of my deductible have I already met this year?

    • Do my out-of-network benefits cover therapy appointments provided by a Licensed Associate Counselor?

    • How much would I be reimbursed for a 60-minute psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90937)?

    • How do I submit my superbills to be reimbursed for therapy session costs?

    • Is there a difference in coverage between in-office versus virtual (video) therapy sessions?

    • How long will it take me to receive reimbursement?

  • Yes! Bliss Therapy Co. accepts HSA/FSA cards.
